Cross Country
Cross Country qualified for the OHSAA State Championship after finishing 8th at the Regional Championship and 5th at the District Championship. US was led by captains Ethan Ansevin '26, Brennan Coley '27, Sebastian Perez '26, and Alex Schott '26.
“This season, I really enjoyed seeing the improvements our entire team made. Our varsity squad earned high placements, and big personal-bests throughout the entire season. The growth everyone made is a testament of how hard the team worked, and I’ll forever be grateful to have been apart of a community of such dedicated kids. I’ll always appreciate my time on the US Cross Country Team, and I’m certain the team will be in good hands next year.”
Football
Football won four of their final five games, finishing the regular season 6-4. Among the highlights were a Week 6 win over Gilmour and a Week 9 win over St. Charles Prep under the lights at the Shaker Campus. Serving as team captains were seniors Aaron Kim, Griff Koch, Colin Milbourn, Matteo Morelli, Caleb Panteck, and Carson Panteck.
"Football at University School has taught me so much about life as well as myself and others. Every year I've played, I've been blessed to have been surrounded with some of the most thoughtful and dedicated people that I have ever known. There is truly no community like that of the University School Football Team, and there is only one word that I can use to describe it- brotherhood. While the season might not have ended the way we wanted, I would never describe it as a failure. While I may never wear a football jersey for US again, there is no denying that this team has made an incredible impact on myself, my teammates, the school, and this program's future. I know that the entire senior class will miss this team and the program dearly." - Griff Koch '26
Golf
Golf finished 9th at the Division 1 State Championship after finishing first at the Sectional Tournament and fourth at the District Tournament. Bennett Johnson '26 served as team captain.
“This year’s golf season could define the word team in a way that goes beyond the scorecard. We faced challenges, tough competition, and low points, but what stood out most was the way everyone supported one another. Each player had a role, and everyone stepped up when it mattered most, especially in the playoffs. The bonds we made and the trust we had in each other are what made this season one to remember." - Bennett Johnson '26
Soccer
Soccer won its 18th consecutive Sectional Championship and advanced to the District Final. US competed against the toughest schedule in the State and finished the season 9-9-1.
“Through my four years in the soccer program I have learned countless lessons: hard work, dedication, and mental resilience. However, looking back at my time playing soccer at US, the thing I will miss the most is my teammates. I'll miss the funny moments and everyday jokes at practice. Even though I’ll never wear the US kit again, the memories will last a lifetime. To my teammates, friends, and coaches—Thank you." - Brady Farah '26
