RBC Capital Markets is RBC's global investment bank providing services in banking, finance and capital markets to corporations, institutional investors, asset managers and governments globally
Services provided include insights required to raise capital, access markets, mitigate risk and acquire or dispose of assets for clients worldwide.

company history

Dominion Securities Corporation Limited (DS) was founded in 1900, and the business was focused on underwriting and the distribution of government and municipal bonds. In World War I, DS is closely associated with the Victory Loan War Bond Program to finance war expenditures. In 1987, DS went public, and was acquired by RBC the following year. It was rebranded as RBC Capital Markets in 2000. It has been growing ever since, and in 2013 broke into the top 10 US investment banks.

Through teams of professionals operating from 70 offices in 15 countries, we deliver banking, advisory and capital markets products and service to clients worldwide.

Revenue Distribution

Left is earnings by business segment, middle is geographic revenue for entire Royal Bank of Canada, right is geographic revenue for just RBC Capital Markets. These charts show that while Capital Markets is only about a quarter of RBC's business, it makes up over half of RBC's US Revenue.

Values
