The Bristol Harbourside is one of the most prominent and well known features of Bristol. It has been celebrated in July every year since 1971 by a harbourside festival. The festival was started to save the docks from being filled in, with over 250,000 visitors attending live music, street performances and a variety of live entertainment. The festival includes music stages, a dance stage, street theatre performances, and water displays. In 2013 fireworks returned to the festival after a two year hiatus.

In the foreground is the SS Great Britain, Brunels famous ship. Bristol is home to many of his historic achievements including the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Great Western Railway.
The ship is actually in a dry dock, a glass plate has been placed at the waterline and a small quantity of water is on top, from above it looks like it is water, but you can walk underneath! A couple of years ago the ship was surrounded in Jelly and lit from underneath, the effect was stunning!
