Designing Effective Online Courses

The UNC System is sponsoring the Designing Effective Online Courses (DEOC) professional development, which is a free online workshop to support faculty and staff across the System who desire to transition their courses to an online format or use digital tools in their physical classrooms. The System is pleased to announce that its next session starts on next Monday, October 25, 2021. This will be the only time this workshop is offered this semester.

Book of the Month

Dr. Richmond et al. (2016) provide an evidence- based answer to the question, what makes a good college teacher? Based on six fundamental areas of teaching competency, this book describes how college faculty from all disciplines and at all levels of experience can use these characteristics to evaluate, guide, and improve their teaching. Evidence based research supports the inclusion of each characteristic, each of which is illustrated through example, to help readers master the skills. Readers learn to evaluate their teaching abilities by providing guidance on what to document and how to accumulate and organize the evidence.
Are you looking for an opportunity to showcase your creativity? If so, submit a short profile to be featured in a future issue of CITIBeat.

📢 Funding Awards from UNC's Center for European Studies
