Digital Photography 2 Portfolio Grace Kelly || Spring 2023

Hi, my name is Grace Kelly and I took Digital Photography 2 in the spring semester of my junior year. This past semester in photography has truly been a blast. I felt that my photography got so much better as the course went on as I learned new concepts and techniques. I loved being able to have creative freedom with my photography, however, sometimes I'd hit a creative block where I had no idea how I wanted my photo to look, but I think that is all part of the creative process. If someone reading this is debating on taking photography, I would recommend you do because it has been one of my favorite classes!

The Freezing Time assignment was by far my favorite shoot of the semester. I loved how all these photos captured the action in some way and I am really proud of the way these are composed and edited. I actually won an award for the water shot in the most left column in the middle!
These photos were taken and edited for the White Balance assignment which taught me about the different camera settings to use depending on location and lighting. I felt that this assignment helped me a ton throughout the semester as I started focusing more on the lighting and color of my photo. I was really proud of myself for getting 4 of the exact same photo as that was something I struggled with the assignment before.
This photo was taken for the Cupcake Shoot on Valentine's Day. I love the focus on this shot and the accidental fairy lights in the back. I felt this photo captured the romantic feel of Valentine's Day with the color scheme.
These photos were taken during the Flower Shoot where we put a flower in water and dropped paint in. I love all of these photos because they showcase the beauty of the flower and their shape.
This photo was taken for the Ghost Assignment. I love this photo because it makes Isa looks as if she is a ghost trying to break in.
These were taken for my second Independent Project and I absolutely love how these turned out. I am proud of the focus I was able to get on the subject's face in the mirror and also the editing. I love how the black and white in the mirror adds a reminiscent feel to the photos.
This was created for my first Independent Project. The whole idea behind this was to see how far some litter is to the nearest trash can, which is what the steps mean under each photo. I think this project sends a strong message that it isn't hard to just throw your trash away.
This photo was taken when everyone was sent to different classes to take photos of them. I was assigned to take photos of Mr.Clancy's gym class and I was very happy with how my photos turned out. I love the focus on this shot and how it highlights her concentration on the game.
This photo was taken for the Toy Shoot. I love the focus on the toys and how it looks like they are looking at the people in the window.
This photo was taken during the Paper Shoot. The lighting on this photo is truly what brings it together because the red and blue blend well. I also like how the paper was shaped.
These photos were taken for the Springies. I love the lighting in all these photos and how they capture nature in Spring. The focus and composition of all of these photos bring them all together which I love.
This photo was taken for the Springies as well, it was one of my favorites. I love how the background is bright and encompasses a nice spring day and how all of the subjects are in focus.
This was created for the Grid Project. I like this project because it shows how emotion can be told just through the eyes.
This was created for the Before & After Assignment where we had to photoshop out parts of photos. I feel like I did a good job of erasing the green guy to look like he was never even there.
This was taken for the PSDT Assignment, or as I called it, PTSD. I love how the color of the Jeep really pops in this photo and how each box highlights a different part of the car.
This was taken during the Ghost Assignment. I like this photo because the background is fully in focus yet Isa looks as if she is a ghost. I also like how I edited the photo to be darker which gave it more of a haunted feel.
I took this when I took photos for Mr.Clancy's Gym Class and I love how annoyed all of the subjects look after getting told they were doing fitness testing. I also like how bright the image is so you can see everyone's face very clearly.
This was taken/created during the Free Shoot and PSDT Assignment. I love how focused the bubble wand is and I think the reflection looks really cool with it.
I took this photo for fun when I was outside for a different shoot but I think I ended up submitting it for Springies. I really love the selective focus on this shot and how you can see the fuzz on the leaf.
This is another White Balance Project just with a human subject this time. I really like the focus on Isa and how the difference in setting really emphasizes how it can effect the lighting.
