Gender Equality Week march 2-6

Gender equality is important because...

On the first day of Gender Equality Week, a photoshoot occurred where students could write on whiteboards and take pictures together in front of a poster saying "gender equality is important because..."

On Tuesday, students were given equality pins in C hall.

Cross out the negativity

On day three of Gender Equality Week, participants were given red paint and instructed to cross out and throw the paint at sexist quotes on a poster.

The poster included quotes from President Donald Trump, Todd Akin, and an EU Parliament member.

"You're able to cross out what you don't agree with," says Meagan Freeman, a junior in ASB.

On Thursday, ASB members passed out cupcakes to students in the upper quad.

The cupcakes had flags with statistics about women and gender equality.
