FOUNDATION TO GRADE 2 CROSS COUNTRY A cool, but sunny morning greeted all of the Foundation to Grade 2 students last Friday for the annual cross country event, once again very capably coordinated by Rebecca Andrew (B1). Congratulations to all of our students for taking part and having fun, to staff and parents for your support, and to Bec for great organisation!!
THREE WAY CONFERENCES I know our students took great pride yesterday in presenting and discussing their achievements in the first semester of 2018 via three way conferences. We thank staff and families for your support of these. Whilst these conferences differ a little from the more traditional parent-teacher interviews of the past, they focus heavily on student voice and feedback, and with all key stakeholders together in the one room at the one time, it is the perfect forum to reflect on progress and map out a path to greater improvement in the second half of the year. You may recall student voice/agency is a key initiative in our current Strategic Plan, developed after our last School Review, and endorsed by School Council, and this is just one way we give leverage to that.
FINAL ASSEMBLY OF TERM Term 2 concludes with a final assembly commencing at 2.05pm tomorrow, Friday June 29. Students will be dismissed directly from the assembly at 2.30pm. Term 3 commences on Monday, July 16. As always, we have plenty of action around the school during the break with painting in the music room, interactive whiteboards being upgraded in the Grade 1 classrooms, gardening and mowing being done by Hi-City on July 12, and other maintenance and cleaning. As always, if you see anything suspicious, or intruders in the schoolgrounds please don’t hesitate to contact the local police.
I wish all students, staff and parents a restful and relaxing holiday break, and look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday, July 16.
Kind regards,
Bill Kersing
Principal
