My Rock

How this exchange impacted me

When I enrolled in this class the last thing, I expected to learn about was mass incarceration. Every day we are seeing many lives being affected by the prison system and I never thought why? From my understanding, I knew people get put into the system for their wrong doings. As time progressed, I began learning from my partner what incarceration is like. The experience is much deeper than what they portray to the outside world. This corporation make millions by putting people into the system. My eyes have been open and I understand the steps and regulations it takes to be convicted.

My partner Kaleb has been an excellent role model to me. Without him I would not have managed to get through this class. The possibilities of being knowledgeable are endless. And I am happy to say this is one of the may topics I will continue to talk about and make people aware. Everyone deserves to heard and have a second chance. I appreciate the chance I had to work with Kaleb. It was not an easy thing to do by exchanging letters with a stranger. Kaleb has pushed me to become a better writer and I will cherish that forever.
