Bobblehead By Darian Kamibayashi

The summary of the project was to design a new product and to solve the user's needs by using the design thinking steps. My product is a bobblehead and that is already made but it is different because I'm making my own. I made a bobblehead because I thought it would be fun to make a 3D printed bobblehead.

Empathy - Understanding the user's need by interviewing them with open-ended questions. I empathized some people and their answers were that they would buy the bobblehead, most people said this is more entertaining than a regular bobblehead, and they said it is fun to look at.

Define - Create a "How might I sentence" to define the user's problem. My "How might I sentence" is, How might I create a toy that bored people can entertain themselves with?

Ideate - Brainstorm ideas for different designs of your prototype.

Draw 3 sketches of different design solutions. My first sketch is of a bobblehead with a big head. My second sketch is of a bobblehead standing up. My third sketch is of a bobblehead sitting down. I would also do a different person.

Fist sketch, bobblehead big head
Second sketch, standing up bobblehead
Third sketch, bobblehead sitting down

Prototype: These are some pictures of my prototypes. I 3D scanned and 3D printed the bobblehead. The prototypes are made out of the 3D printer material.

Test/Feedback - get feedback from your user

I didn't get a lot of feedback but one feedback I got was maybe make the bobblehead interactive.

This is my final prototype.

Final Prototype

The iteration that I had was that I wanted to make a bobble body which is the head and body moves. But when I found out that I was going to print it out on the 3D printer, I switched it to a bobblehead. It is different because I made it.
