Bryan was raised in and around Deshler and was there until he was 10. His family moved to Gordon, NE for two years and then to Blair, NE. He graduated from high school in Blair in 2004 and then joined the U.S. Marine Corps. During his time in the military, Bryan was stationed in Okinawa and North Carolina and had deployments to Guam, Korea, Philippines and Iraq. Bryan was hired by Great Plains Communications in 2009, bringing him to Red Cloud. Being raised in Deshler and having family in Red Cloud in the past, Bryan was familiar with the town and excited to settle down here. In March of 2019, Bryan started working for Bolin-Wulf Farms as a farm/ranch hand--farming being something he had always wanted to do. Bryan has a 9-year-old daughter (Ireland) and a 7-year-old (Tucker) and in November of 2020 he married the love of his life, Kelsey.
What is your favorite thing about Red Cloud?
I’m a small town guy. I lived around the Omaha area for 8 years and in my opinion, nothing can beat the small town feel. From the people, to the land, to enjoying the recreational activities like hunting and fishing that may not be as accessible in a bigger city, small-town life is great. In addition to these things, the opportunities that Red Cloud offers for my family are second to none.
You were recently elected to the Red Cloud City Council. Why did you want to be on the City Council and what do you hope to achieve during your term?
I feel that community involvement is very important. I want to be able to help provide a prosperous future for this town. During my term as a City Councilman, I hope to gain peoples’ trust and continue to help this community thrive and make it great for the generations to come.
