Mr. Scott Cochran Named PRINCIPAL of H. H. Dow High School
With current H. H. Dow High School Principal Ted Davis relocating at the end of the 2022-2023 school year, Mr. Scott Cochran has been named as his successor effective July 1, 2023.
Mr. Cochran brings with him 27 years of experience in public education, including the last 13 with Midland Public Schools. Throughout his career, he has worked in many roles, including as a principal at all levels. He started his career teaching Social Studies and English, along with coaching varsity soccer.
During his employment with MPS, Mr. Cochran worked for nine years in the Curriculum Office, both as the Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator and Auxiliary Curriculum Coordinator. During this time, he supported a wide range of K-12 curricular areas for MPS, including Social Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education, World Language, and Career Technical Education. He was instrumental in implementing and expanding the Mandarin language program, new secondary STEM classes, and CTE offerings for our students.
Currently, Mr. Cochran serves as the principal at Adams Elementary School. Working with the teachers, staff, students, and families at Adams has been a career highlight that he will never forget, and one for which he is incredibly grateful.
Mr. Cochran and his wife Kirsten, who is a teacher at Siebert Elementary, have three children, two who are MPS graduates and one who is currently an 8th grader. Mr. Cochran looks forward to starting at Dow High School, and shares this message with the Dow High School community:
