New Harvest Brothers "Music for the glory of God."

New Harvest Brothers onstage - 2014.

The origins of this singing minstry began in 2007, when founding members Jim Scott Mullins and Mike Mullins felt the calling to form a bluegrass gospel duo. Inspired by the traditional "brother harmony" singers of the mid 20th century, Scott and Mike began performing their music at churches, festivals, community events and on live radio throughout the Southwest Virginia, East Tennessee and Eastern Kentucky regions.

In Mansfield Ohio - 2014.

Along with longtime friend and mandolin player, Tim Powers, the group began to expand their repritoire and appointment schedule to a fuller capacity. These public performances soon led to CD recordings and new additions to the band's lineup. In the years that have followed, the band has performed at such venues as the Richmond Folk Festival, HoustonFest, Home Craft Days and Floydfest. Their music has also been featured on documentary films by the Birthplace of Country Music Museum and the Crooked Road, Virginia's Heritage Music Trail.

The Mullins Family Quartet - 1957.

Drawing from a legacy of gospel singers such as the Mullins Family Quartet and other musicians, Scott and Mike based their sound on their rich musical and church heritage. The mountain gospel sounds that they heard as children began to integrate heavily into their own generation of singing ministry work. Their mission and message has not changed. The ultimate goal being to win souls for Christ and to glorify God through song and testimony.

Oh come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great king above all gods. PSALM 95:1-3 KJV
