song selection & lyric annotation to visuals
For Assignment 1, I decided to make a section of a lyric video for my kinetic campaign video. For this video, I wanted to chose a song that is preppy, fun but still has lyrics that would make good visuals. I chose the song Bored&Blind by Ella Jane. After looking at the lyrics, I picked a portion that I liked and thought would make good visuals.

mood board and art style
For the mood board, I have used neutral and two toned elements to show how the style of my video is going to be like visually. The aesthetic choices I've made are directly related to how I want my video to flow. Continuous line art is something that stood out to me and was an element that I wanted my video to be based around.
Storyboard development
By showing the different drawings in the storyboard, I tried to connect one image to the other so it looked like continuous line art that flowed throughout the lyric video. I made sure that the ending point of the first image was the beginning point of the next and so forth. Storyboarding made this easier to be then created into a vector art.

Style frames for the final video
These are the final illustrated vectors that I created in Adobe Illustrator to then export into Adobe After Effects for motion editing. These visuals directly correlate to the lyrics. I've used visual literacy to portray the meaning of the lyrics. The continuity of the line also showcases how each line of the lyrics relates to the next. This makes it clear for the viewers.
Font and type
Selecting a font for this video was one of the most crucial parts. The lyrics were the main aspects that had to stand out as it being a 'lyric video'. For this, I wanted a clear, legible font that connected to the line art. DK Lemon: an all caps, sans serif font stood out to me in terms of the main lyrics as it had that personalised feel to it. As an accent font, I chose Shoreline Script which is a handwritten, script font which flows just like the line art.
Editing on After effects
For the editing part of the video, I mainly relied upon Trim Paths. I imported the .ai file on Adobe After Effects and changed the vector into individual shapes. I then added a trim path option on all the vectors and added key frames to where I wanted my line art to start and end. This created a continuous line art that went across all the frames.
