Daniel Wagner Artist

The painting starts with a gesture

The gesture is the first mark on the canvas created by a observation of the human or organic form i.e. landscape. This gesture can also be a brought on by a reaction to a thought, emotion a feeling etc. I will push and pull this gesture in which bold colors, and planes emerge from and recede into energetic surfaces of intersecting over lapping shapes, with the use of space, depth, and even movement on a canvas could be created abstractly using color and shape rather than the representational form.

“Abstraction allows man to see with his mind what he can not see physically with his eyes…Abstract art enables the artist to perceive beyond the tangible, to extract the infinite out of the finite. It is an exploitation into unknown areas.”
