1 2 3 - it’s me! Week 7

We have been developing our muscles and reinforcing letter sounds. We have strengthened our fingers with dough and used the scarves to make large letter shapes in the air. It is great fun, but it is also so important for letter formation and being ready to write.
Lots of the children are really enthusiastic about learning sounds and applying their knowledge in their play. We spotted sounds in our environment, helped our friends, and started to blend sounds to read words.
This week we have been reading lots of stories about feelings and emotions. We listened to our friends, and followed some voice 21 activities supporting our development and our ability to help friends if they are cross, sad or grumpy. We looked at the zones of regulations to help us.
1 2 3 it’s me! This week we have really been developing their understanding of numbers to three. They have the opportunity to subitise, explaining what a number is made up of and recognising patterns. They also had to find and make different representations of numbers. The children are really becoming more confident and articulate.
Signs of autumn, observational drawings of pumpkins, as well as cleaning the leaves!
And all of this too….story maps, handwriting and the ‘threeness’ of 3.
