Hello from UNDP Maldives

UNDP's Enrico with Hussein, a fisher from Laamu Atoll Hithadhoo Island on a visit to explore the delicate natural ecosystems of the atoll and the climate change issues that communities face. More on the visit in this issue.
“ We cannot afford to sidestep the opportunity for transformation.

It’s full steam ahead for UNDP Maldives as we progress into 2022. Despite the many challenges, from climate change to socio-economic vulnerabilities, Maldives has shown no lack of ambition to safeguard progress on the Sustainable Development Goals. We have felt the pulse of the islands, and the unambiguous message coming from the people is that the time to act is NOW.

This has inspired us to reinvent and innovate, building forward stronger, greener, bluer in ways not previously explored. In this issue, we bring you a snapshot of the impacts we are making, relying on our strong network of partnerships and relationships built on trust.

Enjoy Reading!
