Week 4 Welcome back to our class blog!

Science - This week, we have been exploring sound in science. We learned that sound is created through vibrations. When an object vibrates, it causes movement in surrounding air molecules. We tested these vibrations by placing some Lego parts on a drum and hitting it to see the way the Lego moved.
We also tested noise level using a decibel meter. We tried talking through different materials to see what blocked sound the best. We found that a wall is best for blocking sound.
Spanish - This week in Spanish, we started to learn the names for different fruits. We played a fun game where the children had to turn around as we removed a fruit and they had to guess which one. Eventually, we will be able to tell the story of The Hungry Caterpillar in Spanish!
Draw with Rob - Near the end of the day on Thursday, we competed a ‘Draw with Rob’. This was a step by step video to help us draw a gingerbread man, which got us in the festive spirit for December starting next week!
English - This week, we have been looking at the story of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in preparation of going to watch it at the ballet in 2 weeks time. We read the story before the children retold it in their English books while also thinking about the message of the story. Next week, we are going to become journalists telling the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet in our local newspaper.

Thank you for reading our class blog!
