Legacy

Perched atop a mountain on the eastern border of Rancho Santa Fe lives a legendary family in the world of motorsports. Starting in the 50s and 60s with the Formula 1 and NASCAR career of Bob Said, this success was carried onwards by his son, Boris Said III in his extensive racing career spanning four decades that saw him compete in NASCAR, X Games, and international races. Now, Boris Said IV is looking to continue the racing history associated with his family name.

Boris IV watches an INDYCAR race on a TV above an image of him when he was a kid climbing into his father's car at a NASCAR race. Racing can be found everywhere at the Said's, and it is almost always being played on TVs throughout the house.
A model plane hangs from the ceiling in Boris IV's bedroom. Despite growing up at racetracks, his first obsession with engines and vehicles was with aircraft.
Boris IV walks by a picture of Boris III engulfed in flames after a NASCAR crash. Reminders of the dangers of the sport are constant, with this being one of a six picture sequence of the crash hung in various places around the house.
Helmets line almost all of the shelves in the Said's garage. Safety is taken extremely seriously in the family. Wearing a helmet is required when driving around the house.
Boris IV drives his Polaris along the harder of the two dirt roads that lead to his house. The Said's house is only accessible by the "easy" and the "hard" dirt roads. The "hard" road, officially called Suerte Del Este and unofficially called Spooks by teenagers in the area, lines a steep canyon and is frequented by dirt bikers and drivers. Boris IV has been driving this road since he was 13.
Boris IV flies in his Polaris after going off of a jump in his backyard. Creating spaces to practice has been a passion of Boris III's once he started focusing on teaching his son to drive. Since then, he has made a dirt bike track in the backyard and Polaris jumps in the front yard.
Boris III pets his dog as Boris IV adjusts the tire pressure of his Polaris after a recent drive. This hands on approach to fixing equipment is one passed from father to son. Welding, engine construction, tire adjustments, and more are all done in this garage, and learning these skills has been a rite of passage for Boris IV.
Boris IV sits next to Boris III's chair from the Budweiser Shootout, a race that kicks off the NASCAR season and is meant to prepare drivers for the Daytona 500. Boris IV has big shoes to fill, but after making his official racing debut in the Trans-Am series this year , he is ready to continue his family's legacy.
