La Planchada (The Ironed Lady) is a legend that has different stories about her. She is mostly known for having an ironed and old fashion nurse uniform.

There are different kinds of stories about her. One of them is beginning in Mexico City's Hospital Juarez. In the early 1930s, there was a nurse who fell in love with a doctor who was secretly engaged to another woman. But being unaware of his engagement, she was has having an affair with him. A few months later, the doctor told the nurse that there was business and that he was going out of town. But in reality, he going on his honeymoon with his new wife. When he was gone, one of the co-workers saw how she was talking about her love and later told the doctors secret to her. Days later she was falling into a deep depression, which some how led to her having a disease and die. But it is said that she returns to her room where she died.

There is another story that is about her. In Hospital Juarez, doctors reported seeing some mysterious improvement in patients. When doctors asked the patients about this, they said that they were met in the night by a nurse wearing an old fashioned and well-ironed uniform. They said that she waswith them for hours talking to them until they fell asleep. And by the time they woke up they felt much better. When doctors heard about this they immediately went to find the nurse and went to great lengths to find her. But they never found her and patients were still getting better.

But in whatever version it is, the ghost of her sometimes seen walking the hallways of the hospital helping patients, or just disappearing into thin air.
