Rhett Jacobs, Senior
With the Dreads having a point differential of +239 in their five wins the backup quarterback has seen the field for quality minutes and has put up big numbers. Rhett also is one of the teams leading receivers with 301 receiving yards and 5 receiving TDs, along with nine total touchdowns.
When asked about his dual-threat start to the season, he said “I score touchdowns. Period.”
Owen Huard, Senior
Owen Huard is currently a member of the 2nd ranked team in the state. He is the team’s best runner who recently set a school record time of 15:04 in the 5K on October 5 at Portage XC, one of the best cross country invitationals in the midwest; behind Huard’s record-setting time was good enough to finish third.
“I’d like to get top 3, and the team, we’d like to win,” he said in regards to States.
Brady Keough, Senior
After playing soccer for his whole life, including his first three years of high school, Keough made the transition to being the kicker for the football team. He does kickoffs, extra points and field goals for the Dreads. In Week 5 against Adrian, Keough set the record for most touchbacks (6) in a game in SEC history. His transition from soccer to football wasn’t as easy it people think.
“(It).. was very hard, and it took a lot of hours in the offseason both in the weightroom and going to kicking camps with KornBlue kicking.”
Gabby Napolitan, Senior
Gabby Napolitan shot an 88 at regionals which was a personal best, also qualifying for individual states. She will be golfing at Forest Akers East Golf Course at Michigan State University on Friday and Saturday, October 18 and 19.
UPDATE: Gabby Napolitan shot a personal best 87 at the D2 state finals at Forest Akers East Golf Course over the weekend. Her two-day score of 178 earned her 26th place out of 108 golfers.
“I had a goal, and I worked towards it, and I accomplished it.”
