CONGRATULATIONS I am very happy to pass on the news that Karli Mooy and her husband Adam became the proud parents of a baby girl, Elodie Joyce, born on Tuesday the 7th September. Everyone is thrilled for you both! I’m sure the 5M class are looking forward to meeting her before the year is out, and also congratulating Mum in person!!
SCHOOL COUNCIL School Council met on Tuesday night to discuss a range of matters including the review of our Japanese program and building program updates. Gill Nicholls and I met with our architects, Kneeler Design, earlier this week and did a tour of the facilities and the grounds. We are now in the Master Planning phase and over the next 10-12 weeks we will work collaboratively with the architects to consider a range of ideas and plans before settling on a Master Plan concept. We will keep everyone in the loop as far as possible, and the architects have assured us they will be consulting with different stakeholder groups over this first phase of the capital works project.
NAPLAN RESULTS Individual NAPLAN reports will be made available to families by the end of the week via a Compass email. Written copies will be distributed as soon as students are back on site, but if any families wish to access their paper copies now, please just ring the General Office and we will arrange to post them out. Our summary school reports placed us well above State average in all areas (Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy) for both Grade 3 and Grade 5 levels. Our data when comparing Grade 3 2019 to Grade 3 2021 trended slightly downwards, with the data in Grade 5 (2021) at or above the levels of 2019. More detailed analysis will be undertaken by all staff and School Council in upcoming weeks with a view to using the data to inform future teaching and learning.
GRADE 5 CAMP The Grade 5 camp is scheduled for Week 1 of Term 4 and whilst it looks increasingly less likely to ‘happen’, we will leave a final decision until the last possible minute and continue to monitor the Government advice and rules. It is possible that this decision may be made during the school holidays, but if it is at all possible to make the school camp happen, we will!
That’s it from me this week. I trust everyone has a restful weekend, and I hope your footy team wins.
Kind regards,
Bill Kersing
Principal
Do you know how the people in your world are really going? Life’s ups and downs happen to all of us.
So, stay connected and make asking “are you OK?” a part of your everyday. That way if someone you know is struggling with something big, something small, or maybe nothing at all – they’ll know you care.
In the Conversation Guide below, you’ll find tips to help you ask “are you OK?” and lend support to the people in your world every day of the year. Because when we genuinely ask, “are you OK?” and are prepared to talk to them about how they’re feeling and what’s going on in their life we can help someone who might be struggling feel connected and supported, long before they’re in crisis.
Student Wellbeing Anxiety in children is at an all-time high.
Parentshop® has developed an interactive webinar that offers parents of 2-12 year-olds reliable and easy-to-implement strategies to help parents identify and challenge anxious behaviours and build resilience in their child.
No Scaredy Cats™, is a parent-led program presented by the course author, Michael Hawton, MAPS. giving parents the tools to help their anxious children to become more resilient. The course is held over 3 interactive webinar sessions and there is a fee. Please see the attached flyer for further information.

Student Dress Code Policy The Department requires that the Student Dress Code Policy be reviewed annually to determine whether amendments need to be made.
With this purpose in mind, I would like to invite feedback from the community on this policy. Please provide any feedback to Gill Nicholls via email by the end of term.
Once finalised, the Student Dress Code Policy will be ratified by School Council.
School Values Mascot Competition Don't forget to complete your BEE entry before the end of term for the School Values Mascot Competition that is currently happening. See the poster for all the details or ask your class teacher.
Have a lovely week.
