Hope Valley, CA Finding color

This is the third year in a row I’ve come here to chase the leaves turning yellow on the seemingly endless grove of Birch trees in Hope Valley, California.

An arial view above the river along the north side of Highway 88, the color almost looks painted in by the ghost of Bob Ross.
I’ll have to bring a change of shoes, or waterproof shoes next time I’m here, i hate being thwarted by a small river, but i had too much hiking to do to get my feet soaked.
Just chasing the yellows. I really wish we had more color like this in Sacramento.
Chasing the last bit of light before the mountains overcome the sun.
Looking out at the Big Meadow after coming back up the mountain.
Possibly my favorite scene from the drive, the lone Birch among a sea of lesser trees.
