North Korea Ski resort Parker Ertl

In North Korea, about a 3 hour drive from the capital P’yongyang, there is a ski resort that uses people that are as young as 11 to chip away snow and ice on roads with pickaxes and sticks.

It isn't just a couple people, no, it’s thousands of people in work gangs, being paid little to no money. These people are in freezing weather, with nothing but a few tools to do the work of the machines that we use here in the U.S.

We do not know where these people come from, for there are no houses around. We also do not know who sent them there. It could’ve been Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea. As you can see in this picture, he is at the ski resort.

There isn’t even that many people that come to the resort because of the high cost, but the people that come there have a luxurious time.

Swimming in pools, delicious fish from nearby waters, and going to the hair salon.

People are thinking of holding the olympics in South Korea instead of North Korea that they were planning on, regardless of the fact that they have this super nice ski resort. People are afraid of the nuclear weapons, government issues, and the violence that North Korea has.
