On December 6th, 1969 Meredith Curly Hunter Jr. was killed at the Rolling Stones Altamont Free concert by the Hell's Angels.
The Rolling Stones offered a free concert at Altamont in 1969. They had the Hell's Angels as security, however, since it was a free concert, they offered the Hell's Angel's $500 dollars worth of beer as pay for them to be security.
Mick Jagger said that the concert and been getting bad all night. With everyone on drugs and alcohol, Mick had to tell everyone to calm down, and just enjoy the concert. Everything was fine until the final set they played and "Under my Thumb" started to play. Projectiles started to fly, and then the Angels started to throw full cans of beer into the crowd and started to swing chains to back the crowd up.
Meredith Hunter tried to get on the stage with the rest of the crowd. However, one of the Angels punched him to get him off the stage. Reports say Hunter then ran into the crowd and then came back out with a long barreled gun. Reports also say he shot the gun and the was stabbed in the back by a Hell's angel.
