What is the Bridges Workshop?
Bridges is an 8 week workshop for women dealing with barriers that may include abuse, trauma, grief, lack of confidence or other significant life challenges that are preventing them from obtaining long term employment.
The Bridges workshops provides life skills, employment skills and work placements.
Who is eligible for Bridges?
Any woman who has registered for WorkBC employment services through our Online Employment Services Registration through apply.workbc.ca and has been referred by their Case Manager.
How long is the workshop?
Bridges is an 8 week workshop that runs Monday - Thursday from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
What skills will I gain from Bridges?

- Build self-awareness, confidence and self-esteem
- Life balance and managing emotions
- Assertiveness at work and at home
- Stress management and self-care
How will I benefit from Bridges?
- Learn the importance of self-care to overcome grief and manage stress
- Self-assessments to aid in the process of self-discovery
- Enhanced communication and teamwork skills
- Work placement is intended to provide exposure into the world of employment
Why does the Bridges program work?
Confidence comes from practicing new skills in a safe, non-threatening environment. Life skills learned will transfer to positive workplace skills.

Long term employment is the ultimate goal for each client who completes the Bridges program. The skills learned will set them up for success in the workplace. Some of these skills are:
