About
Being a final year student at the Queensland University of Technology, studying Bachelor of Design, I have completed various hypothetical projects as required by the course, and to further increase my skillset and gain more experience in real industries, I’ve put myself out to small business owners to land various self-employed design related projects. Throughout these experiences, I have learnt to communicate more efficiently, understand how the trades are made, emphasise to the clients, and to successfully present the design outcomes. I also learned to apply design thinking skills and various designing tools to utilise in varying projects.
From graphic design, UI/UX, editorial design to design fields that require movements and storytelling such as motion graphic design, filming and video editing, I am eager to learn and gain experience in diverse design fields, software and mediums to challenge myself for improvements, and I am confident that I will reach these goals. Having a wide range of interests and not yet having a single committed speciality could raise concern as I could be Jack of all trades but master of none, as the old saying goes. However, as junior graphic designer and a student who still has a lot to learn, I will keep my flexible and ambitious mindset to be opened to learn further experience, feedback and skills by collaborating with my colleagues, seniors from the industries, interdisciplinary designers or clients. Ultimately, I will be a designer who values the needs of the client to deliver valuable outcome.

Design Projects
ZINE . HANGUL
In 2021, I undertook a subject named Typographic Design, which gave me a great opportunity to design a zine with any chosen topic. For this project, I've featured the history of my native language, Hangul (Korean) with the use of modern sans serif typefaces fonts with calligraphic fonts.
WEBSITE REDESIGN . SEVGEN
In the final year of studies in QUT, I had an opportunity to redesign the existing website of an Indigenous Australian enterprise, SevGen.
My role for this project was to elevate the organisation’s digital identity and prepare it for increased exposure in the future. Final deliverable includes functioning prototype of the newly designed website and verbal presentation of this project.
UI DESIGN . EDUO
Within the same period, I had an opportunity to design another website. EDUO is a hypothetical educational company which aims to enhance the learning experience for students and reduce cultural gap between educators and students. This company features a website with visual characteristics and functions of leading social media platforms.
FILMING & EDITING . FMC
In May 2022, I was approached by Jay who is the owner of a start up construction company named Fishermen's construction (FMC) to produce a promotional video of his company. For this project, I've visited the construction site to film his crew's work, designed simple motion graphics to feature information of his company, and lastly did video editing. Although this was my first filming/ editing project, both Jay and I were extremely happy with the final video.
