Skedaddle Mandas (Day 2) sardinia, italy

Today we finally got away on our Skedaddle cycling adventure. The next few days will be spent riding inland across to the coast, before following the coastline back towards Cagliari.

The weather has continued to be kind, although whilst high 20’s, was hot in the afternoon sun. Jenny has been especially pleased with her mechanical steed, not only is it brand new, but is also the only e-bike in the herd giving her a little extra assistance on the lovely rolling Tuscany like hills encounted on todays ride.

The highlight of the day was a visit and English tour of the Bronze Age, (around 15th century BC) Nuragic complex of Barumini, which included a complex fortress and surrounding village.

We arrived late in the afternoon to the town of Sardara where the resort accommodation we are staying at includes thermal hot pools. A good way to finish off the day, relaxing tired muscles!
