The MV High School Vocal Music department has been busy this semester with their preparations leading to performances and awards. Every member of the concert choir was required to participate in the State Solo-Ensemble contest in April. They earned many superior (division I) and excellent (division II) ratings.

State Large Group contest
The high school choir is also preparing for the State Large Group Contest which will take place this Saturday at Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs. MV will be performing at 3:50 in the afternoon.

Awards
The choir and band held an awards evening for the students where they received their recognition for the solo-ensemble contest. Also presented were the recipients of the National Choral Award. This award is given to one female and one male outstanding seniors. These students are selected on participation and their level of accomplishment and excellence.
The awards were presented to Heidi Goodrich- Outstanding Female Senior and Jacob Meade- Outstanding Male Senior. Congratulations to them both!
