Ceramics Final Exam Natalie flynn

Ceramics has been such a fun class that I have taken this year! I got to learn so many new things, and I had a blast creating so many different things! This is my journey throughout this year in Ceramics!

The mug I made for my mom! She uses it all the time and loves it!

I have learned so much this year in Ceramics! It was a lot of fun reflecting over this past year and seeing my progress as time went on. I remember back to the beginning of the year when it was so much harder to come up with ideas, and to complete a project compared to now! This mug took me a while to finish because it was one of our first projects and we didn't know a lot about clay and how to work with the different stages. Nowadays, I can whip up a mug like no one's business!

CHIP BOWL!

When working on and completing this many projects, something is bound to break! As you can see in the bottom right picture shown above, my chip bowl had fallen apart! This set me back a little bit in this project because I had to put it back together again. When something like this happens, which it definitely will, don't let it pull you down or make you give up!

Teapot/Pitcher

When we were working on our first few projects in this class, which were the bowl and mug, I never thought I would make here to making an enormous pitcher! Last year when we were picking are classes, I thought it would be a lot of fun to choose ceramics and I was so happy to get the class! I was expecting to make a few bowls, maybe a vase, or a cup but I never thought that I would be making all of these amazing things!

Cookie Jar!

This is my favorite piece that I have made all year! This cookie jar was a lot of fun to make and I use it quite often! I have always loved baking, so I knew this was the perfect thing for me to make!

My finished basket was also one of my favorite pieces from this year! The process was a lot of fun, and it was exciting to challenge myself! Even though it was difficult to make I still loved the challenge and it was something I had never imagined making in this class!

Instrument Project!

This project was definitely the most difficult for me! I was really stuck on what to make from the three pieces I was given. Coming up with something to make was hard, but once I started attaching and cutting away I created this! My favorite part is the bottom of the finished piece, the glaze looks super cool!

Tea Party Time!

Ceramics has been a lot of fun this year! I got to make so many incredible things that I will have forever!
