The Secret Fairytale By Cerys Hudd

I'm a bear in love with Goldilocks;

with soft skin and sapphire eyes.

But Mama and Papa say

your love is not the right size.

Your heart weaved into gold

while violet stained mine.

Stole traditional motherhood

with a love I couldn’t decline.

Saved me from a lifetime

encased in a tower,

but eventually punished

for tarnishing their pure flower.

Everyone thought I would be

the princess expecting a ring;

but I was kicking and screaming under

layers and layers of spring.
