Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education Form
Congratulations to our very own Mr. Egan who was selected as the weekly winner of the Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award. Every week during the school year, the Michigan Lottery selects one outstanding educator to receive the Excellence in Education award. The award winner receives a $2,000 cash prize! At the end of the school year, the Michigan Lottery selects one weekly winner to receive the Lottery’s Educator of the Year award and a $10,000 cash prize. MLK Day of Service
Thank you for your fleece donations! Join us at the annual MLK Day of Service at Athens High School on Monday, January 15. Continental breakfast starts at 8 am and the program follows at 9 am. Don't forget you can bring any new or slightly used coats, mittens, and hats for those in need to the event!

Attention all 7th grade students and parents- now’s the time to sign up for our fall 2024 8th grade trip to Washington DC. There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, January 23rd at 7 pm in the collaboration studio if you are interested in finding out more. Student IDs
Please make sure your student has their ID on them at Larson. IDs help keep the flow of the lunch line moving and are necessary to check books and resources out of the media center. Thanks for your support!
Discovery Kitchen Cook-Off
The TSD is excited to share a new program that is being held on Thursday, March 14th in the Athens Cafeteria at 4pm. The district will be hosting a cooking competition that is open to all middle school students! Cooking competitions have been offered to our Elementary Students in the past but now it has been expanded to older students this year. Please see the flyer for more information.
Unified Sports School Spirit Nights!
Special Olympics Unified Sports brings people together through team sports and works to promote social inclusion. This is a great opportunity for students of all ages and abilities to come out and see what Unified Basketball is all about! We invite you to the Larson Middle School community night on Tuesday, January 30, but consider attending any of the games! Attending these games is a great way for us all to build community and cheer on our athletes!
LMS Spelling Bee 2024 Info
DATES: Classroom spelling bees are taking place, or will be taking place during first two weeks of January in ELA classes. Our school-wide Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, February 7 during 3rd hour.

Food Service is Hiring!
The Troy Schools Food Service Department, which is contracted by Chartwells, is seeking friendly people willing to fill various vacancies within the Food Service Department that are responsible for providing lunches to the students of the Troy School District. Not to worry if you haven’t had previous experience, as “on the job” training will be available!
Depending on the school, the hours would primarily be during the middle of the day, and would range from 3 to 4 hours a day.
