SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE SOCCER - UMARY
LAST TIME OUT
- The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team was defeated last Sunday afternoon by the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears by a score of 6-0.
- The Golden Bears outshot the Mustangs 31-5, with 20 shots on goal for CSP and one for SMSU. The lone shot on goal for the Mustangs was by Brooke Wetterstrom, and she led the team in total shots with two.
- Goalkeeper Kennady Krebs made 14 saves for the Mustangs, the most in a match since 2018.
HEAD COACH CLAY GLASGOW
- Clay Glasgow is in his fourth season as head coach and has a record of 13-47-10 overall, including 12-38-7 in NSIC play. He was hired as the sixth head coach in program history on Feb. 25, 2022.
- Glasgow came to SMSU after spending eight seasons (2014-21) as head women's soccer coach at Dakota Wesleyan University (S.D.) recording a mark of 49-86-5.
- During his last two seasons at DWU, the Tigers amassed back-to-back winning seasons and qualified for the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament both seasons.
MORE ON SIOUX FALLS
- Thursday afternoon’s matchup with Sioux Falls will mark the 20h meeting between the Mustangs and the Cougars with SMSU leading the series 10-8-1 all time.
- SMSU is 3-2-1 in the last six matchups against the Cougars.
- The Cougars are currently 6-9-2 on the season and are 4-8-2 in the NSIC. Last week the Cougars lost to both Concordia-St. Paul and Winona State, 1-0 and 2-0 respectively
- The Cougars are led by head coach Joe DeMay in his 1st season at Sioux Falls.
- Sophomore forward Addison Van Zee currently leads the Cougars in goals with eight, and shots on goal with 20.
TEAM LEADERS
- Senior forward Brooke Wetterstrom currently leads the Mustangs in goals with three, while freshman Virginia Pruitt has two.
- Wetterstrom also leads the team in shots on goal with 11, and sophomore forward Jada Backes is in second with nine.
- Kennady Krebs has a .704 save percentage on the season, making 88 saves throughout the season.

MUSTANG HISTORY
- SMSU is in its 30th season of soccer in 2025 and 29th season of competition (2020 was canceled).
- The Mustangs have compiled an all-time record of 167-321-39, including 121-189-26 in NSIC games.
- SMSU has made 14 NSIC tournaments and played in the region championship of the NCAA Tournament in 2013.
- SMSU has recorded four winning seasons in program history with the last coming in 2019.
