Jubilee Year 2025

“For all of us, may the Jubilee be an opportunity to be renewed in hope.” Pope Francis

Dear Lord, We thank you for all the great things we have done at St Mary's school. We have learnt so much; we have had fun; we have grown up. Look after us as many of us prepare for a future in a new school. Help us stay true to the faith and values that have been so important in this school. Help us aspire to be more. Amen

We pray especially for our Year 6 children, and for Tiara and Mitchell who will be leaving St Mary's today. We wish them all the very best for the future and thank them for being a very special part of our school family. God bless you all.

Diolch o Galon

As we come to the end of another happy and very successful school year at St Mary’s, I am once again deeply moved by the unwavering support we receive from our wonderful parents and families. We are truly blessed at St Mary’s, and we cannot thank you enough for your continued involvement and encouragement throughout the year. Your support plays such an important role in helping us create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive. A heartfelt thank you also for the incredibly kind words and generous gifts we have received, your thoughtfulness means so much to all of us. Diolch o galon – thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Year 6 Leavers' Mass

Congratulations to all our children and in particular to our Year 6 leavers for their wonderful contribution during the Mass on Tuesday. It was a beautiful and very memorable Mass marking the end of their time in St Mary's in a very special way. For some families of course, this Mass marks the end of an era; the last generation of the same family who have attended our school. Thank you to all family members who joined us at the cathedral. As I said at Mass, once a member of the St Mary's family, always a member of the St Mary's family! We will always remember you and you will always be welcome in our school.

The Year 6 Leavers’ Mass was beautifully celebrated by Fr Charles Ramsey in the absence of Fr Nicholas. We are very grateful to Deacon Michael and Fr Nicholas for their continued support, prayers and guidance for our school, which mean so much to our school community.

A sincere thank you to our governors, parents, and family members who joined us for this special celebration. To our Year 6 parents especially, thank you for entrusting your children into our care over the past eight years. It has been a true privilege to accompany them on their journey, and we are proud of the young people they have become.

As they step beyond the gates of St Mary’s, ready to embrace the next chapter of their lives, we wish all our leavers a future filled with happiness, good health, and fulfilment. We hope they will carry fond memories of their time with us and that they will stay in touch.

God bless you all.

Year 6 Leavers' Silent Disco & Leavers' Party -

What a fantastic time our Year 6 pupils had at their Leavers’ Party and Silent Disco on Wednesday evening. The evening was filled with fun, laughter and lots of dancing both indoors and outdoors as the children celebrated their time at St Mary’s in style.

With colourful mocktails in hand and headphones on, they enjoyed a unique and energetic silent disco experience, complete with plenty of 'very loud' singing, grooving and special moments with friends.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who joined us on the yard to bring the evening to a close with a memorable St Mary’s 'circle dance', the perfect ending to a wonderful celebration!

Congratulations- New baby!

Many congratulations to Miss Lloyd and her family on the safe arrival of baby Lilah-Rae. Lovely to see you in school this week looking so happy and well. baby Lilah-Rae is beautiful!

Archie Fest

On Wednesday, our whole school family came together in a truly special way to support our brave and inspirational friend, Archie, who has courageously battled a rare form of leukaemia known as myeloid sarcoma.

To show our love and solidarity, we held an unforgettable Archie Fest, where pupils and staff proudly wore their own uniquely designed t-shirts , each one a colourful expression of support for Archie.

Thanks to the incredible help of Katie Skellon from Skellon Events, the day was packed with fun, laughter and football, and the smiles on everyone’s faces said it all; it was a day full of joy, unity and hope. We are thrilled to share that we raised over £800 from gate collections alone - an AMAZING achievement and a true reflection of the compassion, generosity and community spirit that defines our St Mary’s family. Thank you to everyone who made the day so special. Archie, we are all behind you and so proud of you.

Our fundraising efforts don’t stop here! We’re continuing to raise vital funds to support Young Lives vs Cancer and Archie’s family through our fabulous raffle, with amazing prizes kindly sourced by Skellon Events. We also invite you to support us by sharing our Crowdfunding page and the poster attached. Every share and donation helps — so please spread the word with your family and friends. The more we raise, the greater the difference we can make. PLEASE FIND LINKS BELOW

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed so far — especially our generous prize donors, the fantastic Skellon Events team, our dedicated St Mary’s staff, and of course, our amazing children and families.

Together, we are showing what a strong and caring community St Mary’s truly is. Let’s keep going for Archie, and for all those who need our support.

Local Support for Families

At this difficult time of austerity, please see some information about local services that are available to provide support to families in need.

Please contact school if you find yourself in a difficult situation and need some help/ support to signpost you to an appropriate service. Your requests will be handled in confidence and with sensitivity. Diolch. Mrs Acton.

HOW TO GET HELP

If you need help from our foodbank there are a few simple steps to follow. THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP IS TO GET A FOODBANK VOUCHER.

In order to provide the most appropriate help for the circumstances of your situation we work with local agencies. If they feel you are struggling to put food on the table, they will issue you with a foodbank voucher. The local agency can also provide long term support if needed to help address some of the issues behind the reasons for your crisis. Agencies we work with include: Citizens Advice, housing support officers, children’s centres, health visitors, social services and some local charities.

1. GET IN TOUCH WITH US.

If you call or email our foodbank we can talk through your situation and put you in touch with a relevant local agency.

2. ARRANGE A VISIT TO THE REFERRAL AGENCY.

They will discuss your situation and supply you with a foodbank voucher where appropriate.

If you can’t afford food, you can call 0808 2082138 (freephone) to speak to a trained and independent Citizens Advice agent (Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm). Please note this number is for people who do not have enough money for food – if you are a local organisation or charity that works with people who might need the food bank, please contact us directly.

Alternatively, please call 0300 330 1178 to speak to Wrexham’s Citizen’s Advice Bureau, who will be able to issue you with a food bank voucher if necessary.

3. BRING YOUR FOODBANK VOUCHER TO YOUR NEAREST FOODBANK CENTRE.

You can find a list of our local centres and opening times here. When you arrive, we’ll welcome you with a warm drink and our trained volunteers will chat with you about your situation. We’ll also discuss any dietary needs you may have and exchange your foodbank voucher for a parcel of three days of emergency food. We’ll also help to support you in any other ways that we can. Most of our foodbank centres offer a cafe style environment and our aim is to provide non-judgemental support at the point of crisis.
