An Exclusive Culinary Journey with Michelin Starred Chef Niklas Ekstedt, May 28-31, 2026
October 20,2025 - Nusfjord Village & Resort, Norway, will host an exclusive, high-end culinary weekend experience in May 2026 welcoming multi award winning Swedish Chef Niklas Ekstedt known internationally for his Michelin-starred Stockholm restaurant, Ekstedt at the Yard in London, and celebrated for his pioneering use of fire in Nordic cuisine. Limited to just 50 guests, the event will be set against the dramatic landscape of the Arctic Circle to showcase the bounty of the Lofoten region through locally sourced ingredients and unique collaborations.
Following the success of last spring’s event with Michelin starred Chef Renaa, Nusfjord is establishing a tradition of welcoming acclaimed chefs who bring their own stories while honoring the heritage and products of Northern Norway. It is fitting that they come together for this event, each bringing a unique history that intertwines with a modern twist on tradition.
Since childhood, Chef Ekstedt has been inspired by fire, a passion that has defined his career and his acclaimed Stockholm restaurant, Ekstedt. His restaurant at The Yard in London focuses on Scandinavian cooking techniques using the very best seasonal British ingredients. Each dish is prepared over open flames, blending ancestral Nordic techniques with bold contemporary creativity. Nusfjord, with its own history of fishermen smoking and air-drying cod or cooking over fire, shares this elemental connection.
“Cooking with fire is about stripping food back to its essence. In Nusfjord, that essence is all around us — in the sea, the forest, and the people.” - Chef Niklas Ekstedt
A Meeting of Fire, Nature & Participation
From May 28 to May 31, 2026, guests will be welcomed to Nusfjord for an intimate four-day journey that blurs the lines between food, place, and nature. Together, Ekstedt and Nusfjord will present a sensory dining journey rooted in nature and craftsmanship, highlighting seaweed, fish, and reindeer, complemented by foraged herbs and mushrooms. Paired with an exceptional wine list and executed by a team drawn from both Ekstedt’s restaurant and Nusfjord Village & Resort, this intimate event promises to be one of the culinary highlights of the Nordic calendar in 2026.
“What inspires us most about Niklas is his rare ability to bring food and people together with honesty and passion. From his early days at El Bulli to a lifetime devoted to food, that spark has never faded. That’s why his collaboration with Nusfjord is more than just an event — it’s about creating something unforgettable for our guests. And on a lighter note, Niklas also has a personal connection to Lofoten, having visited many times as a child,” - Owner, Caroline Krefting
An Exclusive Invitation
This Nusfjord culinary experience is more than a dinner series. It is a rare chance to enter the landscapes, traditions, and creativity of the North. Guests are not mere spectators; they are participants in a living tradition of fire, salt, and silence. Only a limited number of guests will take part in this year’s event — ensuring intimacy, authenticity, and the feeling of belonging to something that cannot be replicated.
