"Today is mine. Tomorrow is none of my business. If I peer anxiously into the fog of the future, I will strain my spiritual eyes so that I will not see clearly what is required of me now." - Elisabeth Elliot

Dear friends and family,

We are happy to write to you again and tell you what the Lord has been doing during this past month.

First Missionary Service

This month we had our first missionary sunday service at our church.

A Sunday Service devoted entirely to discussing the responsibility and privilege of the church to be involved both in making disciples locally and in sending people out to make disciples further afield.

Eimy was working on prayer cards with the names and prayer requests of the missionaries currently serving with the church, so that we as a congregation could pray for them.

And Jordan made missionary-themed bookmarks as gifts for everyone.

There was teaching with a missionary emphasis.

Worship.

And testimonies from some of the church's missionaries.

It was a time of challenge, encouragement, and fellowship for all of us. Thanks be to the Lord.

Baptisms

We were also blessed with a Sunday of baptisms.

Three people in our church expressed a desire to be baptized, and we set aside a day for that.

This Sunday, we decided not only to baptize them but also to have lunch together and spend some time relaxing and having fun in the afternoon.

This day allowed us to get to know the new members of our church who had recently joined the congregation better. It also allowed the church to share with two boys from the neighborhood who go to the youth group and their moms who came that day.

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!

Bible Institute

This last month of classes, Jordan finished the class he was teaching and sports (although the students asked to have the last Friday of sports off so they could pack).

Now the students are on vacation and will be back at school in a couple of weeks. Jordan will be teaching Hebrews and/or 2 Timothy.

Youth group

Before the students' vacation, we had the last youth group meeting for the first semester.

When the students leave, we pause the youth group because only the two of us remain, and some of the neighbors also go on trips.

We will be resuming it in about two weeks, Lord willing.

"Extracurricular activities"

Missionary mobilization

With a group of young people, we went to a Christian camp one day to talk about the Great Commission, our privilege as believers to participate in it, and the need to go beyond our borders.

We sang some songs, did a skit as if we were people from countries where the gospel has not reached many of their ethnic groups, and challenged them to say, “Here I am, Lord,” wherever He leads them.

Family and friends

We have been able to enjoy time with family and friends during these holidays. Eimy's sister came from Mexico to spend a few weeks with us. Jordan's grandfather turned 80, and we celebrated together. One of Eimy's cousins came from Panama to spend a couple of days with us. What a blessing family is!

Prayer requests

  1. As you can see, our congregation has grown. Please pray with us for a larger place where we can meet. We want to continue to be a witness in the neighborhood, and we would like it to be in the same neighborhood where we are now.
  2. For the return to the bible institute and the resumption of the youth group in two weeks.
  3. For REJUVALÍ (Youth Retreat at the Institute in spanish). A three-day camp that we will hold at the institute for young believers between the ages of 18 and 40 who want to learn about missions. It will be held from August 16-18.
  4. For the Lord's guidance regarding what's next for us.
We greatly appreciate your messages, prayers, and support. Thank you! We appreciate you very much!

Your colleagues in ministry,

Jordan & Eimy Jaspe
