Introducing CUSD 50's Portrait of a Graduate! This framework includes 6 competencies to teach and model for our students. During the months of September and October , a new Competency Video with a leader from our school community will highlight and explain each competency and examples of using them in and outside of the classroom.

There is nothing better than celebrating the achievements of our students, and we did plenty of that at the board meeting this past month!
Ava Brennecka, Crystal Rojas Rojas, Wendy Rojas Ortiz, Madelyn Uzyn and Esmeralda Ortiz Ramirez were all recognized for their outstanding art show winning submissions!
Clark Wisner and Josy Rojas were also recognized for their AP National Recognition for achievements in their GPA, PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and/or AP® Exams. CUSD 50 is so proud of each of you! #HarvardRising
#GoHornets: Black and Gold Night🐝
Friday, August 19th was Harvard High School’s Annual Black and Gold Night. A kick-off celebration for Fall Activities. The High School Band, Cheerleaders, Football, Volleyball, and Soccer Teams performed in front of a cheering Harvard community!
Fall Athletics thrive in 2023!
Boys Soccer were crowned KRC regular season and conference tournament champions advancing all the way to the Sectional Final of the IHSA playoffs, boys golf qualified several golfers for sectionals, cheerleading has been outstanding at every game, several boys and girls have achieved personal bests in cross country, volleyball and football have improved greatly throughout the year and finished their seasons strong. HJH athletics also had very strong seasons, Soccer ended as regular season and conference champions just like the high school!
FFA Explores Ag Tech and Innovation
Harvard High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) attended the 2023 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, IL. Students saw the latest agriculture technology and learned from farming industry experts.

Cashing In at the Crosbee Cart
Crosby Elementary students earn “Crosby Cash” when they are being respectful, responsible, and safe. Their “Crosby Cash” can be spent at the “Crosby Cart.” The Crosby PTO makes sure the “Crosby Cart” is full of a variety of rewards.

We were honored to be visited by State Representative Joe Sosnowski from Rockford. Superintendent Dr. Corey Tafoya and Principal of Crosby Elementary Natalie Cowley were able to show him around our District to see what #HarvardRising is all about!

Mastering Music in 48 Hours!
10 talented HHS Choir students took part in Millikin University's Vocal Festival! In just 48 hours, they mastered new music and delivered a concert performance 🎶🎤
AVID Elective and Excel students visit BIG 10 University
🚶♂️🚶♀️🏫 The AVID Elective and AVID Excel students at Harvard Junior High were able to experience a Big Ten School when they visited the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Their walking campus tour allowed them to step into the world of college life.

Future Focused at the Career Fair's!
Over 24 local businesses and organizations set up tables in the Harvard High School Gym, introducing our 9th to 12th Graders to a variety of careers.
Some career paths at the fair: agriculture, army/military, business, communications, healthcare, hospitality and tourism, public service, manufacturing, and trades. McHenry County College was also at the fair to present career/college opportunities.
Jefferson students had the chance to explore and learn from professionals in a wide variety of industries as well!
