Competitive Cheer Competition 1/30/25

Varsity and Junior Varsity(JV) competitive cheer teams, along with Highland's Middle School competitive cheer team performed at a home competition which took place January 30. The girls headed into the competition after a first-place win from the day before and won again on their own mat, beating the school record by .2 points. Before the competition began, the teams took a moment to recognize their six seniors.

Starting Round One, the girls take the mat with fierce power. The wildcats wowed the judges and the crowd, setting them apart from the others and giving them a lead over 17 competing teams.

Between Rounds Two and Three, the little cats in 5th and 6th grade performed. Putting on a heartwarming show keeping everyone engaged. These cats also showed what the future of Northview cheer will look like.

Adding to the amazement of this night, a special performance entertained and engaged. A boys cheer team, coached by some of the varsity cheerleaders, was assembled and prepared a show. They performed following the conclusion of Round Three, giving judges some much-needed time to confer and tally up the scores for the 17 teams.

“Watch me whip, watch me nay-nay,” along with cartwheels, laughter and dancing. The boys pulled out some of their best moves for this special event.

Two stunt groups were formed by the boy cheerleaders. With strength and determination the cats entertained the crowd.

Laying and waiting, the varsity cats eagerly await their final place for Divisions I and II.

Once the Second place team got announced, the cats knew they’d done it. They placed first in Division I and II and overall had the highest score.

The varsity cheer team is all together, sitting in a group laughing and smiling together. The girls had an astonishing night full of emotions.
