Cowbridge Lower School newsletter.... the festive edition! 🎅🎄
The end of our first term, what a busy term it has been! This week, the excitement levels have been sky high, the energy levels have taken a dip and the festive spirit has been present every day!
The week started with Lower School's first 'Elf and Wellbeing day'. This was a day linked with Tyfu, who are currently housed in the upstairs area of Lower School. They were invited to coplan the day but ended up resourcing and preparing everything, Lower School were SO grateful for all their lovely ideas. All the staff and children got involved, we had messy play, reindeer food, painting, reindeer hats, Christmas ornaments, all different activities to help promote wellbeing. The biggest thank you to our Tyfu colleagues for all your hard work in preparing the resources and to the students for helping the children to complete the activities.
Continuing on the wellbeing front, we had some furry visitors to the school! Mrs Jenkins from big school brought her rabbits in for us to see... there were six of them and we loved stroking and feeding them their favourite food of broccoli! Diolch Mrs Jenkins 🐰
Reverend Angela made her first visit to Lower School this week. Nursery and Reception had been busy making angels to display in Holy Cross Church as part of the festival of angels. We are looking forward to seeing them displayed in the church over the Christmas holidays.
Reception had their first Christmas dinner in school on Thursday. Our amazing cook Mrs Beaton made a delicious turkey dinner with all of our favourites! Blasus iawn! We had crackers and even some Christmas tree shaped choc ices! Diolch Mrs Beaton! 🍽
To finish our very festive week, we had a big Christmas party (with big children- as requested by Lower School children!). A big thank you to all the pupils who came down to help us party festive style! The big highlight for the children was having a visit from Santa himself! 🎅🎄
A very busy and productive first term for us in Lower School. A huge thank you to our incredibly supportive parents who have joined in with every request for dressing up days, charity fundraisers and sending items into school, we feel really lucky to have you and your children as part of our school community. A big thank you as well to our Cowbridge School colleagues and pupils who have supported us this term, diolch yn fawr! ❤
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a very healthy and happy New Year! Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda! 🎄🎅
