GOVERNANCE

The Executive Committee has implemented the following policies effective on Muharram 4 1448/ 19 June 2026. All community members attending any program at MOMIN must adhere to the policies found in this handbook.

Signed, Hamza Mozahir Syed, MBA General Secretary, MOMIN Executive Committee 2026-2028

ITEM DONATION POLICY

Purpose: To maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment at MOMIN Center, we have updated our policy regarding item donations. 1. Strictly Prohibited Items: Used Clothing Please do not leave any used clothing at MOMIN Center. We do not have the capacity to sort, process, or distribute clothing. There are numerous other dedicated local charities and donation boxes better equipped to accept and distribute used clothing. 2. Items Requiring Prior Approval The following items will not be accepted by MOMIN without prior Executive Committee (EC) approval:

  • Books / Islamic literature
  • Furniture (Chairs, tables, sofas, etc.)
  • Large plants
  • Household items
  • Decorations

How to Request Approval: If you have an item you believe would benefit the center, please contact the Director of Building Operations at BuildingOperations@momin.org to obtain EC approval before bringing the item to the building. Enforcement: Any unapproved items left at MOMIN Center—including all clothing drop-offs, unapproved literature, or items —will be immediately removed from the premises and either discarded or donated to another charity at the administration's discretion.

SIGNS, BANNERS, AND FLYERS POSTING POLICY

Purpose: To prevent damage to doors, walls, and other surfaces, and to maintain a neat appearance throughout the facility, MOMIN has installed dedicated notice boards in both the Men’s and Women’s lobbies. General Posting Prohibition No flyers, posters, banners, or announcements of any kind may be taped, tacked, or attached to any wall, door, window, or unapproved surface anywhere on MOMIN property. Notice Board Approvals Community members who wish to post an announcement on the lobby notice boards must request approval by emailing the General Secretary at GeneralSecretary@momin.org.

  • Once approved, items will remain on the notice board for a period of up to 30 days.

Religious banners, flags, or similar large displays may not be posted or hung anywhere on the property without explicit, prior approval from the Executive Committee (EC).

PARKING POLICY

A towing company has been contracted to actively patrol MOMIN's property. Any unauthorized vehicle(s) not belonging to community members will be towed.

Apartment Residents: For community members who reside in the apartments and park in the MOMIN Center parking lot, please complete the form below to register your vehicle(s) and prevent towing. Carpooling/Temporary Long-Term Parking at MOMIN: We understand that there are times when community members carpool from MOMIN to other locations or need to leave their vehicles at MOMIN. If you plan to leave your vehicle at MOMIN after the program or overnight please complete the form below so that we may notify the towing company not to remove your vehicle. Accidental Tows: If your vehicle is towed by mistake, please contact the General Secretary by email at GeneralSecretary@MOMIN.org and provide your vehicle information (make, model, and license plate number). Your vehicle will be released free of charge. Please do not pay the towing company before contacting MOMIN. A FORM DOES NOT NEED TO BE COMPLETED IF YOU ARE ATTENDING A REGULAR PROGRAM (MAJLIS, JUMAH SALAAT, DAILY SALAAT,  DUA E KUMAYL, ETC.) MOMIN Vehicle Registration Form: https://bit.ly/MominParking
