My Brand

My brand shows evidence that I have appropriate knowledge of graphic design software and digital tools. I used multiple programs including PS, AI, Adobe Express, Bootstrap, HTML5, and CSS3. My Series of branding projects show appropriate evidence that I know the elements of design and the principles of design. Some examples are the consistency of colors thought my brand work. The hierarchy of my dream bubble of my logo. The use of space/white space though out my website. Getting to my end brand projects was a process. My logo was imagined first, and the idea was pretty rough. I used peer/teacher critiques and playing with my logo to finally come to what I ended with. Finding the right colors was another process. I started with lime green and black color scheme. It felt too harsh and not like me at all. So, I played with other colors I felt homier with, ending with green and blues. I feel like I did demonstrate thoughtful and appropriate critique skills with these projects while I did not use all the suggestions I did play with and use some. Like curving my name to the outside of the dream bubble to make it look more cohesive with the design. I followed directions for these projects the only time I slightly deviated was when I put my stationary into a mock-up form and my leave-behind piece was a little more advanced than what was offered to use. I feel like my attention to craftsmanship and detail are proven in my projects because the colors had to be consistent across my whole branding project establishing cohesiveness.

Leave Behind Product

These T-shirt designs were created just for fun. I used multiple Adobe applications to create them all. I've used both stock pictures and my own illustrations. I took some funny sayings and added images to make the t-shirts enjoyable. I used line, typography, variety, and contrast for these t-shirts. I show craftmanshipt and attention to detail by displaying my work in markups to show how they would appear in life.

I show working knowledge of the industries software and tools by using PS and AI. I used elements of design like color (the red popping off the dark photos and ad background) and I used principles of design by showing movement in my gif. You can see my creating self-expression with the hearts in the ad a bullet points. I used a peer’s critique to change the timing on my last gif. action to prolong the logo and message and then on the magazine I added a white stroke line to enhance the font on the image for readable. My projects show I can follow directions as I received top marks for this project. I proved craftmanship and attention to detail by editing my projects for the portfolio. I also changed my magazine ad to a mockup.

Magazine Work

Magazine Article Layouts- I used ID and PS to complete this project where were to take the same article and present it into two different ways; I chose to target one for an adult magazine and one for a child’s/parent’s magazine. Space, typography, and variety were used to finish this project. My personal touch was added with the pull quotes. I did change the layout and the pull quotes to look better aligned per peer critique. By listening to directions, I received an A for this project. I achieved craftmanship and attention to detail by getting the PDF print ready.

I used PS and ID to complete this project to design two different magazine covers using the same image. I used line, typography, variety, and contrast for this project. I used PS to change the background from the original image. I did not change anything as I could not find the problem from the peer critique. I received top marks for this assignment showing I followed directions. I changed the PDF file to be print ready.

Restaurant Packages

I show working knowledge of the industries software and tools by using ID. I used elements of design like color (the red popping off the photos and background). You can see my creating self-expression by keeping my menu simple a clean. I used a peer’s critique to license the red assorted Chinese dishes, however I did not change the font as this was one requested by the brand. My projects show I can follow directions as I received top marks for this project and the fact that I used the brand qualifications. I proved craftmanship and attention to detail by editing my projects for the portfolio. I also changed all the for print ready PDFs.

Logo Designs

For this project I used PS and AI to create this full 9-page logo design

book. It is evident that I used line, color, rhythm, and pattern throughout this

project. I started with six different hand drawn logos, and I created the logo

wheat design myself. There was not any peer critique on this just that my pop of

color brought my logo out. I placed a group of my best photos on a collage that

will represent my best work.

Bannner

For the banner I used both PS and AI. The project shows I can achieve line, typography, color, space, and balance. This was my first freelance job for a gentleman who was walking across Arkansas to promote mental awareness. The client was very happy with the work and pictures were posted across social media. I worked with the client and kept in touch during the process. I paid attention to detail by making sure that I listened to and applied ideas the client wanted as I had the banner was done but a couple days before printing had to rework the whole thing as the client wanted to go a different way than originally wanted.

Photograpy

For this project I used PS Express to highlight some of my social media post. It is

evident that I used typography, color, rhythm, and space throughout this project.

These have been used across social media and shows I know how to successfully post to

social media sites. The only critique I got was about the color of my fall quote, however

I tried different ways and colors before I posted it, and this was what was the best. I

placed a group of my best photos on a mockup that will represent my best work.
