Season Predictions and Questions After Week 5

Now that Week 5 of the NFL season has come and gone, and the first quarter of the year has delivered plenty of surprises. From unlikely upsets to breakout performances, it’s clear this season will be anything but predictable. As the league continues to shift, it's the perfect time to make bold predictions and reassess our expectations for the rest of the year. Whether you're looking to crown a new Super Bowl favorite or foresee a potential midseason collapse, one thing is for sure: the drama has only just begun. So, let’s dive into the wild world of Week 5 takeaways and make some daring predictions for the months to come.

#1: The AFC is the most impossibility thing to predict right now

Before the week the AFC wasn’t as hard to predict. It was easily the Bills, Chargers, Colts, Ravens, and Chiefs as the best teams. But after this week I don’t know what to say. The Chargers have lost 2 straight and one of them by 20. The Broncos and Patriots both beat the only 2 undefeated teams, and the Bills were one of them. The Texans have won 2 straight games by 20+, and the Ravens are the even a playoff team? The Chiefs are finally bad? The AFC is insane right now and we may not be able to predict it for a while.

My Predictions:

  1. Bills
  2. Colts
  3. Broncos
  4. Ravens???
  5. Chiefs
  6. Jaguars
  7. Patriots. That list was impossible to make and I probably left out 3-4 teams that could have made it.

#2: Drake Maye will be a top 10 QB by the end of the year.

This one has been widely said but still Drake Maye has to be one of the most accurate QBs in the NFL. Almost every big throw he makes is put in a perfect spot. This year Drake Maye is 5th in passing yards, and 6th in rating for QBs. He has looked a lot better this year and that’s because of Steffon Diggs who has had 100+ yards in the past two games.

#3: Are the Bengals done?

With Jake Browning the Bengals are one of the worst teams in the NFL and I don’t see them winning any games soon with him so is it time for a QB change? Either way the Bengals are 2-3 and Joe Burrow isn’t going to return until mid-December. By then they will face the Ravens twice, Bills, Patriots, Packers and Steelers. In my opinion without Burrow they will lose all of those that will become 9 loses overall and a team hasn’t made the playoffs without a winning record or a division title since… well ever. So the Bengals will need to win all of their games besides the ones mentioned and still win the division. The Bengals may be over.

#4: Do the Colts have a top 5 offense?

This year the Colts are 2nd in yards per play and 4th in offensive yard per game. Daniel Jones has been insane this year being 3rd in passing yards and 1st in QBR and Jonathon Taylor looks like the lead candidate for offensive player of the year being 1st in rushing yards and touchdowns. The Colts currently are the #1 seed in the AFC and they should be undefeated if it wasn’t for Adonai Mitchell dropping the ball be for the endzone. Tyler Warren has also been a big part of the Colts passing offense. He is 4th in tight end catches and 1st in tight end receiving yards and he may be the lead candidate for rookie of the year.
