RETURNERS

Lily Schwartz (Sr.) - Schwartz competed in 12 events last year including the SAISA Fall Women's and Spring Open Championships. She posted two top-five finishes on the year. This fall, she competed in six events, including the SAISA Fall Open Championshop.

Carter Morin (Jr.) - Morin competed in 11 events last year including the SAISA Fall and Spring Open Championships. he won the ERAU Greg Popp Trophy on September 30 in the A Division, and posted back-to-back third place finishes at the Florida Trophy and Jacksonville Trophy in the spring. This fall, he competed five events.

Sophie Leduc (Jr.) - She competed in eight events last year, including the SAISA Fall and Spring Women's Championship. She competed in three events this fall.

Tia Soultankakis (Jr.) - Soultankakis rejoins the team this spring. She spent the 2022-23 season with Eckerd competing in eight regattas as skipper and crew, skippering Eckerd to win the SAISA Fall Women’s Sprint at Florida Tech on October 22.

NEWCOMERS

Paul Jr. Rodrigues (Fr.) - Rodrigues attended Christchurch School in Bermuda and received all conference honors twice in high school. He competed in seven events this fall with with a second place finish at the SAISA South Top 6 Invite on September 14. 

Jordan Vieira (Fr.) - Vieira attended Christchurch School in Bermuda and was awarded All-Visa skipper twice. He competed in seven events this fall with with a second place finish at the SAISA South Top 6 Invite on September 14 and at the USF Trophy on September 15. Ge placed third at the SAISA Fall Open Championship.

Pait Cromwell (Fr.) - Cromwell from Charleston, SC competed in three events this fall.

Avery Guck (Fr.) - Guck attended Barrington High School in Rhode Island. She competed in seven events this fall with a second place finish at the SAISA South Top 6 Invite on September 14.

Peyton James (So.) - Comes to Eckerd from Colorado.

WARD CROMWELL

Cromwell joined the Tritons in August 2023 as the head sailing coach. He enters his second season at the helm for the 2024-25 campaign. Cromwell comes to Eckerd after spending 18 years at fellow SAISA school, College of Charleston, where he helped build the Cougars into a national powerhouse. He won six Fowle Trophies as the best overall team in college sailing and 20 ICSA national championships. Cromwell has won at least one ICSA National Championship in each of the six collegiate racing classes with three match race championships, four men’s singlehanded titles, one women’s singlehanded crown, three women’s fleet race championships, six open fleet race championships, and three team race titles. His accomplishments continue as he has produced 92 ICSA All-Americans among open and women’s skippers and crews and 13 ICSA All-Academic honorees. Additionally, he claimed 51 conference championships and five ICSA Sailors of the Year (three women and two men). Crowell also spent the last 20 years as a youth and Olympic coach with US Sailing.

"So far the team has good synergy and is excited to compete. We hope that we can rotate personnel and that anyone on the team could sail with the other and still be competitive.

Lily Schwartz (Sr.)

Eckerd opens the season, at the SAISA Top 18 Invite in Jacksonville. The Tritons return home for to host the Mendleblatt Team Race at the Doyle Sailing Center. Eckerd caps the regular season at the Admirals Cup in Kings Point, New York.
