ARTSFEST

Congratulations to our entire community on an outstanding Arts Fest. This was our first attempt, and it was a win! So much support and the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department said it was the largest event they have ever had! Bravo Gunn family! Thanks for showing up #GatorStyle!

Sixth Grade Parents, you should have received an invitation this week if your child is receiving an award.

Rey (Gunn) and his partner Zetheus (Bailey) placed 1st on at the All-City Junior High tennis championship in boys doubles! The junior high tennis team is made up of Gunn and Bailey, 7th and 8th graders.
Thank you to ALL of our volunteers this year!  We had the opportunity to celebrate some all-stars who have made great contributions this year.  Thanks so much for your amazing support of the Gunn community!
The Gunn Choir participated in the Epic Waters Music Festival. All 6 choirs including Showtime (our show choir) received a superior rating! In addition, the choir also was awarded two different best in class trophies! Awesome job choir!

Great Job at the AISD JH Swim Meet !!   Alexia Salazar place 3rd in the 200 free relay. Bradley Bokony placed 3rd in the 200 free relay. Traygan Seimears placed 3rd in the 200 free relay, 2nd in the 25 back, and 1st in the 25 free. Cam Jenkins and Lilly Kennedy both placed 1st in the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. Elise Gonzalez placed 2nd in the 50 free and 100 free and  1st in the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay. Brynna Jarrett place 2nd in the 100 IM, 1st in the 50 free, and 1st in the 200 medley relay. ...& the 200 free relay Gunn Junior High Girls placed 2nd overall
The Dallas Wings Community Foundation, in partnership with Commissioner Alisa Simmons and STEM It Up Sports, is hosting "Wings of Innovation," an exclusive STEM camp designed specifically for junior high girls. This program combines technical innovation with the excitement of professional basketball to inspire the next generation of female leaders. STEM It Up Sports worked to ensure that the camp will be hosted in Arlington this summer. Camp Overview Dates & Time: June 17th and 18th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. Location: Barnett Junior High, 2101 Sublett Rd, Arlington, TX. Cost: Completely free for the first 50 girls who register. What’s Included: STEM It Up Sports provides all necessary equipment, learning materials, entertainment from the Wings, and daily lunch/snacks. The "Game Day" Finale The experience culminates in a special celebration on Saturday, June 20th, at UTA’s College Park Center. Tickets: Each participant receives two tickets (one for the student and one for a guardian). Recognition: Students will sit together in a dedicated section and be brought onto the court during the halftime show for special recognition.

SEMESTER EXAMS AND 8th GRADE CLAPOUT

Students who miss semester exams will need to complete those after school is out. Note that May 21st and May 22nd are early release days.

8th grade parents are invited to participate in the clapout on Friday May 22nd at 12:30. 6th and 7th grade students will line the hallway, parents will line the art gallery, and we will clap our 8th graders out on their way to high school.
