Nature

This week in Science, the children have been learning all about plants and how they grow. We started off by exploring a variety of seeds and bulbs, using magnifying glasses to get a closer look at all the little details.

They then used great observational skills by drawing what they could see. They took their time to add plenty of detail and really focused on the shape and form of each seed and bulb.

We then planted daffodil bulbs, thinking carefully about what they need to grow. The children will be observing them over the year to see how they change and grow, we’re all excited to watch the process unfold!

We had a brilliant time at Forest School this week. The children made some great connections to their recent learning in Geography and Science as they began looking closely at the physical features found in the forest. They also explored the different plants growing around them and spent time comparing trees by looking carefully at their leaves. It was a great opportunity to apply their classroom learning in the great outdoors.
