Hi everyone,
Welcome to the Christmas Season of the Year.
The prophecy of Isaiah 9:6-7 declares “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."
The greatest moment in human history – is the night when God became flesh, moved into our world, begin living among us and eventually gave His life for us.
Christmas is the greatest moment in human history. This event impacts the destiny of man throughout eternity. It is the night God became flesh, moved into our world, lived among us and eventually gave His life for us.
Christmas, brings the message of peace. The multitudes of angelic host sang. “Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:10-14.
It was a message of good tidings to you personally and to all who would embrace Jesus Christ. He is called Saviour, one who will deliver us, the Christ, the powerfully-anointed one and Lord who is sovereign and demanding our worship. Jesus is called Saviour! Not an example or a teacher, but a Saviour! If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent an economist. If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent an entertainer. If our greatest need had been military, God would have sent a soldier. If our greatest need had been for justice, God would have sent a judge. But, our greatest need was forgiveness and redemption and, therefore, God sent a Saviour!
It was also sadly a message of rejection. Luke 2:7says “And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
It was not merely an unpleasant event for Mary and her newborn Son, Jesus Christ. It was a foreshadow of the hearts and receptivity of the people whom He came to love and save. The Bible says, “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13
Knowing what these Scriptures says, how shall we respond and what should we take note of this Christmas season? 1. We must go and tell the whole world that Jesus Christ is the Saviour that God in His infinite love sent to us. Like the shepherds, God has already made known Jesus to us. Let us move out and tell the others of our wonderful, powerful and divine Saviour Jesus Christ 2. We must search our own heart and make sure nothing and nobody has crowded Jesus Christ from our hearts. More than that, we must not restrict our capacity to include Him in every areas. Make more room for Jesus in every area of your life.
May this Christmas Season be the most memorable. meaningful, divinely- impactful and spiritually-invigorating one. May you and your loved ones have a clearer and greater revelation of God’s infinite love for you and His immeasurable grace that works in and through you. Blessings for the Season!
