Principal's Message

As we enter the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year, my dedicated faculty is committed to helping our students pursue success and achievement, while addressing any learning gaps. We are also excited to celebrate and recognize the accomplishments of our students. As we commence the Spring semester, maintaining a strong academic focus is crucial. There is much to look forward to in the next five months for all students. For the Class of 2024, graduation is on the horizon, bringing with it exciting events like our annual Bio-Tech fair, the school play, field trips, athletic competitions, and end-of-year activities. We invite you to join us in these upcoming events!

Youth Empowerment Event Tomorrow!

RENEW Essay Contest

Delaware Interfaith Power & Light will host its third annual statewide essay contest for all high school-age youth in Delaware: RENEW ~ Reflective Essays on Nature, Earth, and their Wonders. RENEW is a platform for them to reflect – in writing – on the unique role of youth on climate action, growing concerns over environmental injustice, and their personal sense of connectedness with the natural world. $8,000 in cash awards will be available.

Nominate a teacher for teacher of the year!

Red Clay is seeking nominations for the 2025 Red Clay Teacher of the Year. Being selected as a Teacher of the Year is one of the highest honors the district bestows on Red Clay teachers. Parents and students are encouraged to nominate as well. Please click the link below to nominate a teacher.

Opportunity for students interested in careers in medicine

DHSA is pleased to once again offer virtual outreach events for students interested in future careers in medicine. The file below includes details on event including panel discussion topics, dates and registration links. Students are encouraged to attend the event for the county in which they reside however are welcome to attend the session that works best for their schedule. Parents welcome to attend as well.

Academic Support Program

The Red Wolves After School Academic Support Program is designed to provide opportunities for middle and high school students in need of academic support, while fostering positive social interactions among students within their school and learning community. Middle school and high school students will have the opportunity to work with teachers for extra support in all subject areas. This program runs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:15-4:15, and will wrap up on March 27th. Parents/Guardians will have the opportunity to sign their student up on a monthly basis. Please keep scanning those receipts for Box Tops. Just download the Box Tops app, pick Conrad PTO as your school, and scan each store receipt that has Box Tops items for Conrad to get credit for each of items you purchase. Conrad Alumni Bryce Fender Visits EntreX Class

Conrad Alumni Bryce Fender came in to talk with the UD EntreX students about his entrepreneurial journey. Students were able to learn from his successes and ask questions about creating their own opportunities to deal with problems that they want to solve.

Microbiology Field Trip to Delaware Public Health Lab

Conrad's Microbiology class has been learning to grow and culture bacteria for the past few month in preparation for the field trip to the Delaware Public Health Lab. The class went to the site to understand how diseases are collected, grown, and identified in order to increase healthy outcomes for the community. This image is the students wearing BSL 3 outfits, commonly used when studying pathogens such as Tuberculosis and COVID.

Wellness Center

Flu Shots are available through the in-house Wellness Center! Schedule your appointment today!

Conrad Schools of Science has an On-Site Wellness Center which is staffed with a Family Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority, a Registered Dietician, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Athletics

Winter Sports

Our Winter Sports season is in full swing. We are working with the winter weather to have as many games on schedule as we can. Any changes to games will be updated on ConradSports.com. Please check there and our social media pages for any weather updates- games and practices.

Boys Basketball

Our boys basketball team is working hard against their competition this season, their current record is 2-5 and they are looking to improve upon that in the coming weeks.

Girls Basketball

Ours girls basketball team is holding their own so far this season, their current record is 6-2. They have some tough competition coming up but are looking to stand out in the coming weeks.

Swimming

Our swim team is currently 3-2 in their season with a lot of home meets left to go. Come out and support our red wolves at McKean Pool!

Indoor Track

Our track and field athletes are working hard this season. The team has had many highlights from broken school records, personal bests, and some athletes have qualified for nationals! Their meet for tomorrow has been cancelled, however, they will be back on the track next week.

HS Wrestling

Our wrestlers have also been showing their hard work this season at their tournaments and their smaller meets. The team is currently 2-2 in small meets and have had many highlights and achievements in their tournaments. Our wrestlers had a big first for Conrad where we were able to enter a Varsity Girls team into the Wetzel Classic and all 3 of the girls on the team placed in the top 3 of their weight class- a huge step for the team, and Conrad Athletics.

A look ahead to Spring sports

We are almost at the “one month” mark -students who are interested in a Spring sport should prepare now! Physicals and FamilyID must be completed in order to participate in tryouts.

Annual Conrad Quarter Auction

We are looking forward to you and your guests joining us at the 6th Annual Conrad Quarter Auction on Saturday, February 24th, at Millcreek Fire Hall! Sports Boosters

Special Boosters Winter Membership Drive- Please Support!

The Conrad Sports Boosters is an organization comprised of Parents, Coaches, and the Athletics Department. They meet once a month to discuss and organize support for all of our Middle and High School Athletics Programs. We encourage anyone to come out and take part in the conversation to support our student athletes.

The next meeting will be Thursday, January 18th at 6:00 in the Library.

Stay on top of Schedule Updates for all of our Sport Programs and changes due to weather. Please check the website for updates on weather instead of calling the main office. We also encourage you to use the apps of communication for your respective team as coaches will often communicate updates through those services. Spring sports are approaching! Please make sure to submit a physical and fill out FamilyID forms.
