Every day is a great day at Adams!
Come on in for a snapshot of all things Kindergarten and meet our team. We look forward to meeting incoming 2025-26 Kindergarten Parents. Find additional information at the following link: https://www.midlandps.org/enrollment
Now Open - Enrollment for 2025-2026
Enrollment for 2025-2026 is now open. This is for any student who is new to or returning to the district and will be enrolling in their zoned building based on their address. This application will remain open through the 2025-2026 school year. I have already started accepting applications as they are being submitted, as long as birth certificates and proof of address have been included.
2025-2026 In-District Transfer Applications will be available from February 14 to March 14. This is for any student currently enrolled OR any new student living within the Midland Public Schools boundaries who wishes to enroll in a school other than the one they are currently enrolled in or zoned for.
2025-2026 Non-Resident School of Choice Applications will be available from April 15 to May 15. This is for any student living outside of the Midland Public Schools boundaries who is not currently enrolled with us and wishes to enroll as a new student.
- Non-resident SOC will have limited availability. We will release how many seats will be available for each grade/building after in-district transfers have been completed on March 14.
- If we have more applicants than seats for a specific grade/building, we will prioritize siblings and then do a lottery drawing for the remaining seats.
- There will be no extensions to this application period, nor will there be any additional non-resident SOC application periods before the start of school.
All applications will be available in ParentVue, in the Online Registration section, during the specified dates.
Kids Day!
We look forward to supporting the Lions again next season!
Dear Adams Families,
At Adams Elementary, we are committed to the well-being of our students, as well as the broader school community. As part of our efforts to support mental health, we want to ensure that families and caregivers are equipped with the knowledge and tools to recognize warning signs of suicide and know how to respond if needed.
We are pleased to share that we are offering from TRAILS - Suicide Prevention for Caregivers and Communities Webinar, designed to empower families with practical information on how to talk to children and adolescents about mental health, how to spot early warning signs of distress, and where to turn for support.
Why is this important?
- Early recognition of mental health challenges can help prevent crises.
- Families are a vital support system in ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
- This webinar provides the resources needed to intervene before a situation escalates.
The next free webinar will be held on Thursday, February 6 from 4:30-6pm ET / 2:30-4pm MT via Zoom, open to all K-12 families and community members, and can be accessed through this flyer. We encourage all families to take advantage of this valuable resource.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe and supported.
Sincerely,
Tracy Renfro, Principal
Adams Elementary
Reporting Absences - A Reason is Needed
Parents/Guardians can report student(s) absent via ParentVUE. This feature appears as a blue "Report Absences" button on the app's main page or website.
For each absence reported, parents/guardians must provide a reason. If you report your student as sick, please list the symptoms your student is experiencing. The note will help school attendance staff select the correct attendance code. If no reason is provided the absence will not be excused.
Parents/Guardians can report absences for a single day or multiple days.
Report each student individually. Do not enter additional students in the notes section.
If you have a legal or medical document, please upload it with the absence or provide it to the school attendance staff upon your student's return. Parents/guardians can still call to report an absence at 989-923-6037.
Lost and Found
Please label your child's belongings to help us return them promptly to their owners. Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of each semester. We encourage students to check the lost and found regularly, as we have accumulated many misplaced items, including jackets, water bottles, lunch boxes, and other personal belongings.
