Message from our Principal
What a fantastic week it has been at our school! Our students continue to shine as they “Play the Game” in so many ways, both on and off the court.
Beach Volleyball
A huge congratulations to our beach volleyball teams for their outstanding success last week! Your hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship have made us all very proud. The highlight of the meet was a thrilling match from our Junior Girls team, who played through to the Far North Coast CHS Final. Every player showed great determination and improvement as the day went on, making it a fantastic day of volleyball for all involved. Keep that energy and enthusiasm going!
SRC Leadership Day
On Friday, our SRC students truly rolled up and rolled up to Sideshow Alley! They spent the day connecting with student leaders from our Partner Primary Schools at Ocean Shores Public School. This special event, attended by our Mullumbimby High School Lighthouse Valley Schools leaders, from Year 4 to 12, celebrated the positives of character and fostered new friendships. Our leaders engaged in creative game design challenges and were rewarded for encouraging their peers and promoting positive participation. A heartfelt thank you to Celeste Grennan for her exemplary leadership of our SRC this year. Celeste, your organisation, positivity, and dedication to professional learning have kept our SRC focused and thriving. We appreciate all that you do!
Inclusive Education in Murwillumbah
Last Thursday, there were some very tired young people (and some less young people) returning from the Murwillumbah pool after participating in the Tweed 7 Day for Inclusive Education. Our Inclusive Education team did a wonderful job in giving our students the opportunity to connect with peers from schools across the Tweed/Wollumbin region. These experiences are invaluable for building understanding and friendship.
Year 10 preparing for their future options
Our Year 10 students have also been busy preparing for their futures. Last week, they took part in essential training including the White Card and Safer Driver courses. These practical learning opportunities help set our students up for safe and successful journeys ahead. Many thanks to all the staff who organised and supported these important activities. It’s inspiring to see the diverse ways our students are growing, connecting, and leading every week. Keep up the fantastic work!

Social media platforms age restrictions
From 10 December 2025, social media age restrictions will come into effect across Australia. Age-restricted social media platforms will have to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under 16 from creating or keeping accounts. This change aims to give young people more time to develop essential skills and maturity before engaging fully on social media. The eSafety Commissioner has created a great range of resources to help parents and carers navigate this change: https://www.esafety.gov.au/about-us/industry-regulation/social-media-age-restrictions-hub
