The Wave term 2 week 8

Relieving Principal's Message

Someone has definitely turned the temperature down over the last few weeks! It has been wonderful to see our students wearing our winter uniform being a navy-blue school jumper with our logo or jacket and navy track pants. These can be purchased from the School Locker if your child has grown and requires new items. Please remember to label jumpers and jackets.

Our students have continued to make us proud over the past few weeks, with our soccer and football teams demonstrating exceptional sportsmanship skills at recent knock-out events. Our students are excelling across the board and demonstrating citizenship qualities far beyond their years. Congratulations Ballina Public School students!

We are actively taking enrolments for Kindergarten students in 2026. Our Transition to School Program starts in Term 3 so please make sure you have contacted the school and don’t miss any of the exciting action.

Attending school is very important for every child. Please try to ensure that your child is at school every day so they can build connections with peers and engage in learning. If your child is unwell, you can submit the absence on School Bytes or respond to text message sent by the school.

Just a reminder that smoking on school grounds or within 4 metres of a pedestrian entrance to or exit from a public building in NSW is prohibited. We also ask that you are mindful of using appropriate language when gathering outside the school during pick-up and drop-off times. Thank you for your cooperation.

I am very honoured to be staying on as Principal into Term 3. I look forward to continuing to work with our students, families and community.

K-6H explored nature for World Environment Day. The students identified trees, grass and plants. They collected leaves and bark to create an original artwork and I am very impressed with their creativity.

We all helped keep our school clean and beautiful by collecting rubbish and popping it in the correct bins.

Well done K-6H. Tonya and Miss Houten are very proud of your efforts.

K-6F have been busy learning about our community, it's culture and it's diversity in History. We had a discussion about the diversity in our classroom and took the 'hands photo' to represent it.

Students have enjoyed caring for the chickens and doves in our school's aviary. We currently have 4 small Dutch Bantam hens and 2 doves. The doves sometimes fly to us when we are feeding them, and even land on our head. K-6F have completed training to ensure we care for our animals and ourselves correctly and safely.

With our athletics carnival coming up, our class has been practicing track and field events ready to compete.
