We met while serving with Cru in East Asia in 2016. The Lord captured both of our hearts for that nation, and we felt so compelled to share the gospel with a people who had little access to or knowledge of Christ. We knew that after getting married we wanted to join staff with Cru to continue in ministry.
The Lord used COVID to bring us back to the States in 2020, and we have had the immense joy of doing ministry at Appalachian State University since then!
Rates of loneliness, anxiety, and depression are at an all time high, and this is evidenced across campus. At the same time, students are hungry for hope. The Lord is at work, drawing lost and lonely hearts to himself!
Our mission is to win students to Christ, to build them up in their faith, and to send them out to the world to be a light for Christ in whatever He has for them beyond college. We do this by engaging in evangelism, one-on-one discipleship, Bible studies, and weekly meetings.
Damon started walking with the Lord in college after a Cru staff member shared the gospel with him. We know that there are so many students who, like he was, are searching for truth.
College is a pivotal time in their lives as they figure out what they want to do and who they want to be. Our prayer is that they will come to know and love Christ and that will change the trajectory of their lives, work, and relationships.
Additionally, we have the opportunity to take students on Spring Break trips and Summer Missions where they are able to develop a heart for the nations! These also provide significant growth opportunities as they learn how to effectively share their faith!
We love getting to share the hope of the gospel with college students and see their lives transform as they encounter Jesus. We truly believe that reaching the world can begin with reaching the campus!
